Anyone identify this egg?

Unsure where to post, debated fruit and veg. Hubby clearing/, tidying raised big strawberry planter,brand new plants,not done well. Bed absolutely full of vine wevil grubs   Also buried in the soil this whopping egg
 Hubby reckons it's seagull,any thoughts?

  • Yes I agree with your OH … looks like a seagull egg to me. 

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    I'd agree - a gull of some kind. Herring?
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

     Must have made the poor gulls eyes water it's massive. The raised bed is covered with netting to stop the birds eating the strawberries. Was waiting for someone to say,there is no such thing as "sea"gulls, which technically, there isn't. All I know is the ones here are BIG
