Thank you NewBoy2. I'd like to make them or it into a feature of some sort, but there's always that option

  • I find myself wasting far too much time going down Pinterest rabbit holes these days. Have you searched on there for ideas?

No I haven't Jenny_Aster. That's a cracker of a table and very innovative. I really like that thank you.

  • I was surprised to see how much these tanks are advertised on Ebay.

Crikey. That one is a bit bigger than mine. I paid £10 and £3 for the one that is half the size. A friend is coming round later and hopefully bringing an angle grinder  :)

  • You could try trading up and buy something even better with the money!

I have some old galvanized cattle troughs which I've painted black, drilled holes in the bottoms and planted climbers and bulbs to use in a courtyard garden; looks good.

That sounds lovely. Or you could do this with your cattle troughs....

If I'd paid that much for a tank, not that I would, I wouldn't be able to bring myself to cut it for, say a table, Jenny_Aster, I'm struggling as it is for a tenner.

Lucky you Redwing, I'd love some of those but they fetch quite a lot of money these days. In fact, I like old farm implements too. I might start a thread on strange things in our gardens.

I know I'm taking this off-topic but I'll just show you this. It's made from a pinch bar, pickaxe heads, and scrap metal, supposed to be a tulip. Not a good pic as it's raining. There's a scrap metal yard not far from me and it's a scavenger's dream.

I like the old wheel at the base. It's great to be able to use such stuff....should say reuse.
