I'm in Ipswich @Uff.... unfortunately lol apparently no 26 in worst places to live in Britain.
Brown Turkey is apparently the best suited to UK climate,  maybe a sheltered spot with a lining like you say.  I'll take a picture when I go outside to do the bird feeders and post it.

    Thanks, WonkyWomble.
Since I started the thread yesterday, you know how it is, I've thought of nothing else  :)
Was going to do my tax return but that went completely out of the window. Make a mistake and they chuck me in prison.

I know what you mean @Uff
I'm saving my end of month accounts until the weekend even though it's raining,  hate doing it that much and have no axial life so weekend makes sense!
Realised I'd run out of all necessary bird food so now been to shops... just having some late breakfast and ill take that picture!

Quite so Dovefromabove, it is that time of year.
Well, that's a decent sized fig in the tank WonkyWomble and even though it hasn't any leaves I can see that it's healthy. Thank you for posting it.

No problem @Uff. 😊 it had leaves until about a week ago,  has baby figs for next year so I'm looking forward to harvest!!
It's true @Dovefromabove but being a gardener for a living means mine always last is my excuse 😉

Hi @Uff, have you considered turning it upright and creating a bug hotel?  The Woodland Trust has some good ideas: How to Build a Bug Hotel - Woodland Trust.  Or perhaps a log store?

The smaller one of the two tanks would make an excellent bug hotel. I don't have a log fire or a wood burner. I'll browse the Woodland Trust site thank you Plantminded
