Good morning Sheila. I don't think that there is anything wrong with your weigela. These shrubs are decidous and therefore lose their leaves in the autumn and winter. Your weigela is just behaving normally.

I'd agree - it's just becoming dormant. It'll drop it's foliage - it would usually have done so by now, but the recent mild weather has meant that many shrubs are later than usual.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I agree too, it's autumn, they're meant to do that.
Here are mine for comparison. The dark-leaved one has lost a lot of leaves already, mostly from the lower parts of the branches where yours have yellowed, whereas the variegated one has only just started to go brown around the edges.
That plain yellow branch on the variegated one will be pruned out in the spring if it starts to leaf up the same way.
