Climber ID please

I bought this at a local National Trust property but there was no ID tag on it. My plant app says it is a common jasmine climber, but I’m not sure. If it is would it be evergreen or deciduous and should I cut it back or leave it as it is? Thanks no idea why the photo has
turned!

It does look like Jasmine. I have one and it loses its leaves when the weather gets cold.

Jasmine needs pruning to stop it outgrowing its space and to get rid of dead wood. Done late summer or autumn usually, after flowering. It needs a sheltered spot as it can be a bit tender.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Thank you Busy-Lizzie.
  • Is it in its first year then?
I too bought a jasmine without ID this year, all it said was evergreen and reaches 6m…I have no idea what it is and am hoping it isn’t a total thug!

Let’s hope we both have success, mine didn’t say anything, I just guessed it was a climber which I was looking for to grow over a pergola. Even the chap in the NT shop didn’t know what it was but for £6 I thought I would take a chance!!!🤞🤞
