Seed Identification

Long shot but can anyone please identify this seed please?

  • 'bump'
  • Not even convinced that it is a seed capsule.
Might it be an unformed  flower bud that just got knocked off??
I would be tempted to gently take it see what lies inside.
    Perthshire. SCOTLAND .

It looks to me a bit like a large seed that was cut in half and healed over.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

I think the flat bit is where it was attached .  Google pacific iris seed photos, and see if you get a match.

The shape reminds me of the seed pods of grape hyacinths (muscari) but bigger and less papery-looking, so something from a bulb is possibly a good call.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

Where did you find it Marl-E? Might that be a clue to what it is?
