I got a call from someone with an Indian accent. Just about to put then phone down when I realised it was from the GP surgery. You've got to feel sorry for Asian chaps just trying to do a job too.
I had an email supposedly from Amazon this morning no Amazon heading just a strange post code at the top saying they were going to close my accounts and I couldn't make any further orders because my address was wrong! Click here to know more, yeah right.
B3,I had a similar embarrassing incident last year! Local pharmacy told me my e script had run out,I needed to get a new one from the surgery. Wrote letter, posted in surgery door. Mid morning,my mobile rang, showing a Mobile number I didn't recognise. Answered, Luckily, very heavy Chinese accent. Asked for me by name, I didn't confirm just asked who was calling. She said the surgery regarding my script request.i told I thought she was a scammer, she laughed. We changed broadband suppliers in December,I don't have a fancy landline package anymore. You can call in or out,no filtering system. Hubby had gone out, thought it was him ringing, picked up. Indian sounding voice, knew my name,I didn't confirm. He said he knew I was getting a lot of scam calls (hum I wonder how!!) Wanted to offer me a "free" filtering system,he belched really loudly during the sentence.
Thanks, Lyn. I would remind people to sign up to Which's scam alert website if they can... I've been watching the eon one- the scammers are using more clever and sophisticated methods to dupe and frighten people.
I've had 4 phishing emails purporting to be from EON. All telling me I had an £85 refund due to me. The layout of the mail, the wording, and the fact that I'm not an EON customer rang alarm bells from the beginning.
