Having tided up the garden yesterday and almost completed the last jobs, I untied some string from some sticks, look who took it.

  • Are they sparrow boxes? The sparrows loved pulling all my garden twine where I'd tied things in this summer.

Also while I'm here, assuming they are sparrow boxes. Do they have partitions in the boxes? I've seen some that have three holes but are completely open inside but others that had 3 separate nesting areas.

Yes they are all sparrow boxes, we bought three and my husband made the others. They do have partitions in the boxes, sparrows will fight if they get upset, so we thought it best to give them their own little compartment as shown in the first one. We had intended to make some more, but ran out of wood. Maybe more next year.
