Strange Cosmos flower

I haven't had a Cosmos flowering like this before...it's a more vigorous plant and later flowering than the others (normal white ones) I grew - either from a friend's seedlings or self-sown from last year's, difficult to know which, and sorry, I don't know the variety. I am agog to see how the florets turn out
