New rose with creamy coloured marks on leaves

My new rose, planted earlier in the year in a large planter, has suddenly developed creamy coloured blotches on its leaves & I can’t find any info on what it might be. Anyone know what this is & how to treat it? Thanks in advance!

Ah yes, I had a bit of that this year, just on one rose, which is also in a pot close to a warm wall. Leaf hoppers. Its a bit unsightly but not fatal, your rose will be dropping it’s leaves and shutting down for winter soon, so no action required. Many pesticides will kill the leaf hopper predators and beneficial pollinators too, so personally I wouldn’t spray at all (well I don’t spray any chemicals anyway). Roses attract a lot of pests and diseases and it kind of goes with the territory I’m afraid. More info here:

    I have something similar @Nollie
I always thought it was early sawfly damage

Yes, leafhoppers, tiny jumping bugs. They don't do that much damage.
  • Thanks Nollie & edhelka, pleased to hear it will not kill my beautiful rose!
