RHS Level 2 Distance/ Correspondence Learning

Hi all, 

I am considering starting the RHS level 2 qualification by distance learning. I am looking at going with the Learning with Experts - Expert level course. Has anyone completed this course and was it worth the extra money compared HCC/ Best in Horticulture? 

Any advice would be much appreciated. All the courses seem to have good reviews.

Ho there - I’ ve done this course but went to college for it so have no experience of distance learning providers.  I know people who swear by RBGE but can’t vouch for them personally.

The RHS have revised their syllabus and are making major changes to the course.  The new syllabus will be taught from  September 2022.  However, it is still not very clear how the new syllabus will work, so colleges are still getting their heads around how they need to revise their materials/create new content,  For that reason you might find it difficult to enrol with anyone atm …..the transition is proving rather painful.

However, it is a really interesting course - I learned so much I didn’t even know I didn’t know !  So good luck with it all.

I echo what @chicky has said.  I did my course at college 7 years ago, my sister & Bil, did the course more than 15 years before me. Their course was considerably different to mine.  The RHS revise the content regularly. Whatever you decide to do  make sure you get a copy of the syllabus direct from the RHS,  it will state exactly what they expect you to know in order to pass the exams.

Thanks for the comments guys. I think I can still enroll with the current syllabus at the moment. I will see if I can get a copy of the new syllabus, if it looks more interesting i could wait until next year.
