Glazed ceramic pots v terracotta

I'm intrigued as to why large ceramic pots are so much cheaper than terracotta equivalents. Both are made of clay. I have been offered both.

Below both are frost proof and 50cm tall .
This one is terracotta which costs more than double. Both of these examples have postage included in the cost.

Is it just perceived to be classier?

Your thoughts are wlecome. Thanks

The 2nd link is the same as the 1st  :)
Is it simply because the supplier has more of those to get rid of  ;)
Glazed pots are usually more expensive in my experience, but I haven't bought any of either for a while.

It might be down to quality - ie the terra ones you're looking at are heavier, perhaps hand made?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Sorry. The link is now fixed.

It could be, but terracotta always seems to be expensive. A 50cm high pot doesn't seem to come cheap.

It seems they're handcrafted rather than mass produced, which many glazed pots are, hence the price.
I've come across that company before while looking for alpine pans.  The quality jumps out at you   :)

The terracotta link doesn't say it's handcrafted. You'd think they'd shout about it.. They are a good company. I have used them before.

I'd agree with you though - you'd think they'd add the words ' hand made ' in the heading. Many people would see that price and just think - blimey, they're nothing like that price in B&Q!
