Apologies Silver surfer, I Googled Schefflera again, and yes it seems to be the plant, thank you. It is growing very well in this time of the year considering it is an indoor plant.
If you look carefully at 1. It has opposite leaves on a branch. There is one leaf stalk with many leaflets arranged like the spokes of a wheel. This is called a compound leaf and not that many plants look like that.
Sorry but that rules out Buddleja...

But many have been introduced that are evergreen and hardy in UK.

The ones they sell are all outdoor Schefflera
