Happy Saturday all. My 2 year old magnolia has these weird ‘buds’. Any idea what it is and should I be worried? Thank you.

Apophthegm - a big word for a small thought.
If you live in Derbyshire, as I do.

I’m not an expert on Magnolias, but what you have there is a seed head, not a bud. It looks as though not all the flowers were fertilised so only some seeds have developed. But I’m sure there are some Magnolia experts on here.

Not a flower bud...these are the seed pods.
Perfectly normal.
Shape and size vary..depending on species.

This was one of ours in 2018.
Lovely but also very strange.
