Lupins v Slugs and Snails

Does anyone think it would be futile to lay and peg down some chicken wire around the base of Lupins to stop the Snails and Slugs getting to them

    Yes - utterly futile. I'm afraid it would only stop snails/slugs if they were larger than the size of the holes, and even then... ;)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
