What is this growing up through Climbing Rose?

I have this Plant growing up through my (inherited) Climbing Rose. The stem is quite thick so I think this would be sizeable whatever

That's an ash tree sapling ... you need to get it out at the roots ... somehow.

You've probably got a mature female ash tree in the neighbourhood  spreading her offspring around ... look out for the seedlings in the spring and early summer when they're tiny and easy to pull out.

    Good luck 🤞

It looks like an ash tree seedling - needs whipping out

  • Hi @Sheila Allder It's an Ash tree sapling and best removed while you still can (even then it may be a struggle!)  They grow very quickly and into huge trees, unsuitable for most gardens.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
  • That is an Ash Tree. Try and get it out, you will have to have a bit of a dig at the base to try and get some of the root out. :)
