Hydrangea cutting

Hi, my hydrangea cutting appears to be growing leaves instead of shoots. Is this normal?! Thanks

Yes it’s normal … just rub them out. How long has it been in the water?

Lovely, thank you.  It's been in there about 4-5 weeks.  I guess there is still life in it if leaves are growing, so hoping that roots will appear at some point?!

It’ll take time … I find it takes longer for roots to appear in the autumn than in the spring. Put it in a quiet corner and forget about it … when you rediscover it in the spring my guess is the jar will be full of roots. 😊

Thank you so much, you have been very helpful.   I'll look forward to seeing those roots in a few months  :)
