String of pearls sticky and has white stuff

Please help! I have 3 lovely plants, all of which have these white things on them. Pls see pics. They are also sticky. I don’t think it’s mealy bugs as it’s not cobwebby (I’ve dealt with them before) but you never know.

    I think they are mealy bugs, but very young. I use Isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) to deal with them, which should kill them whatever they are.

    If the alcohol doesn't kill them - it will certainly give them a bad headache next morning!

    I think they are perhaps tiny aphids, or maybe whitefly, but I can't zoom the picture in far enough to see them clearly.
    Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

    I have exactly the same problem on the same plant. I manage to keep them at bay with a small paint brush, meths and patience!

    What are meths pls? Do u know if neem oil can be sprayed on if diluted? This worked on a cacti of mine which is now thriving. Many thanks
