When/How do I prune this rose?
Having moved to our new house last December, I have watched this rose do nothing all year! Not a single flower, though it has sprouted a bit. I think it's a climber though not sure at all. Could anyone advise how best to treat it to see if I can get it to flower next year? It is in a border which faces North West. Many thanks.

... in case it only flowers once, which will be from year old wood, best to leave as much as possible until it blooms next June, which it should, as you have plenty of growth on it... you can shorten if you want, maybe to the top of fence line, but I wouldn't prune hard back at this stage...
.. take photos next summer of blooms and post here, may be able to i.d. it..
..alternatively, get rid of it and plant something you know and like..
