Buddleja globosa, plant out now or next spring?

LeadFarmerLeadFarmer Posts: 1,382
I have just received a Buddleja globosa that I ordered, it's about 7" tall and am wondering whether to plant it out in the border now, pot it up on the patio over winter, or keep indoors until next spring. With it being so small Im unsure if planting out now is the right thing?

If I had that, I'd wait @LeadFarmer .  Looks nice and healthy though - but it's a tiddler.

If the roots are filling the pot, it might be ok, but if not, better to hang fire for a while. On the patio should be fine, tucked in.  :)

Thanks, think you are right. Greenhouse is another option that I forgot to mention.

I doubt you'd need the greenhouse @LeadFarmer, but it would just depend on your weather. I've forgotten whereabouts you are  :)

Probably under the table would be enough  ;)

I'm in Sheffield. Think I'll it find a shelter spot on the patio, which is south facing.

I thought that's where you were but couldn't remember. Shelter from the extremes is about all it should need.
Hope it does well for you   :)
