Sloe Berries?

Can someone please tell me if these are sloe berries in the photograph? I have come across them on a walk near farmland.

    If they're around the size of large peas or thereabouts, then yes. There are similar fruits which are bigger.
    Blackthorn has a lot of thorns, so if you stick your arm in and get slashed, you'll know they're sloes  ;)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

  • Thank you. They are the size of a very large pea but I cannot remember seeing large thorns.

    Just be careful anyway - the thorns are pretty vicious if you catch them  :)
