Identifying a Penstemon

I am trying to find out the name of the Penstemon that Adam Frost was planting in a pot on Gardeners World on Friday night. Can anyone help please?

I don't think Adam actually gave the name of the Penstemon but just called it "plum coloured". There is one named Plum Jerkum so could be that.

I grow P.Raven which is also that sort of colour.
It's one of the taller penstemons

    P. Blackbird is also similar.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
  • Thanks for the suggestions. I have checked out the varieties suggested and all seem to have a stiking white throat to the flowers. Having watched the clip on Gardeners World again the Penstemon in question appears to have no or very little white in the throat of the flowers.

  • Adam just called it a “purple” penstemon. I appear to have same variety in my garden but was already in garden when we bought house
