Hi can anyone help me, what’s happening to my lovely yucca rostarta the leaves are turning brown and I’m worried it’s dying. I was told to water once a week which I did then thought I’d over watered so stopped for a few weeks. Then have just watered again but just don’t know what to do 😬

Ouch, it looks absolutely lethal - you need to wear safety glasses near that one. I would guess it's short of water and the pot looks too small for that size plant which would probably be better in the ground.
The old leaves near the base would normally turn brown as they decay.
Hopefully other posters who have yuccas will have better ideas of what is wrong.

How long have you had it ? Has it been in that pot for a while ? And finally, whereabouts are you ?  (Just a general location will do).

Once a week would never have been enough - not for anything potted [apart from succulents]  and especially in summer. 
Whether it'll survive is another matter, but it needs immersed in a bucket of water until rehydrated. If you tie all the foliage with string or some towelling or similar, to keep it from poking your eyes out, that will make it easier to do. I think much of that foliage will just come off though. 

A word with  whoever told you to water once a week wouldn't go amiss 
Stopping watering completely was also a mistake, but I can see how you might think that you were doing the wrong thing.

If yours has been outside in the hot sun it will need plenty of water. I used to give ours about six litres of water per watering....at least. Water until it starts coming out of the bottom. And I would agree with others about repotting it into a larger pot. We had ours in a massive terracotta pot. Take off/cut off any brown dead leaves and offer it some shade during the day. Could be  getting scorched. I would also give it another watering now as the compost is looking very dry.

I’m in South Wales and have had it about 4 months

Ok will try to do my best I’ll get it out the pot this week and check roots and dryness etc

It might be mild enough for it to be ok outside there, but I think I'd want to give it protection for winter - at least this year anyway.
The heavy rain won't do it any favours - ironically.
