Hosta far too gone?

Hello!

This Hosta was planted in my garden but snails had a feast. 

I have moved it to a pot inside the house but is it far too gone? Any recommended treatment?

Shall I chop the half eaten leaves?

    Remove the spent flower stalks to save it wasting energy on seeds.  Keep it safe from the slimesters so that what's left of the foliage can feed the roots and it should recover to try again next spring.
