Sichuan pepper shrub - how to prune??

I’ve grown a Sichuan pepper shrub from seed - it’s about 5 foot tall, but is one straight upright shoot. Should I nip the top or cut further down to encourage branching??

Zanthoxylum simulans...common name Sichuan pepper.

Depends on the look you want.
I would be inclined to pinch growing tip off.
