Edible or not?

Hi, my daughter has this growing in her new garden and would like to know what it is and whether it might be edible. Thanks Valerie

    That looks like Hypericum Androsaemum, Tutsan. Those berries are definitely not edible.

    I agree with Hypericum.
    Why anyone would want to eat an unknown berry is beyond me.
    He calls her the chocolate girl
    Cause he thinks she melts when he touches her
    She knows she's the chocolate girl
    Cause she's broken up and swallowed
    And wrapped in bits of silver

    Good grief, she wasn't about to eat it without knowing what it was. That's why she asked me to find out. Give me some credit for not raising an idiot 🤦

    We've got similar but bright red. No inclination to eat them here neither.

    They're red and glossy/opaque to start with - and look very similar to Viburnums, then turn black. 
    It's the only time that plant looks good IMO.  :)

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
