Unìdentified shoot with red berries.

Hello, can anyone idenity this strange shoot with a cluster of red berries at the end? It appeared about a month ago, when the berries were green, then they turned red about a week ago. I saw about 5 or 6 of them in our local park yesterday  but apart from that I've never seen them before.

Hi @mike.p.fox40  and welcome to the forum I :)

t's Arum maculatum ... https://www.wildlifetrusts.org/wildlife-explorer/wildflowers/lords-and-ladies  ... a fascinating spring wildflower ... after flowering the leaves die down just leaving the berries for the autumn.  They're toxic to us but valuable to wildlife.

Don't let the seeds drop or you'll be plagued with it for years - as I have been :(
