Small ornamental tree for bright shade

Looking for alternatives to my current favourite, multi stem Tibetan cherry tree, but not sure if its suitable for my bright shade West/NW facing spot that gets some sun in late spring & summer afternoons. It does get a bit more sun rest of the year when neighbours horse chestnut tree has shed its leaves. I live in Hampshire and have chalky soil.

I think the Prunus serrula might be OK, I saw some at Bluebell arboretum that were fairly shaded out by surrounding trees.
