Is my Acer dyjng
in Plants
I have a beautiful Acer in a pot that has always had gorgeous red foliage
then died off naturally in the autumn. This year it started off good but now looks as though it's dying. I water regularly but think it might be potbound. Can I report now (September) and what's the best soil to use I don't want to lose it as it's always been so lovely 😥

You need a loam based soil, and you can add a bit of ericaceous compost too. Keep it in the shade until it recovers - ie next year.
Don't be tempted to feed it either.
Some of the palmatums are pretty tough, so if it's one of those, it should be fine unless it's actually died.
Click on the icon that looks like hills and follow instructions. Keep the pic below 1MB or so. The photo uploading is a bit useless these days if they're too big.
