Grasshoppers and crickets

Today l started cutting my wildflower lawn, a job that takes me the best part of a month what with raking in between successiveky shorter cuts.  However, stopped as l seemed to be disurbing grasshoppers and crickets.  Don't know their life cycle; when would it be safe to cut this wildflower area?
