Apple tree

Hi, I have a well established bramble apple tree which gives us plenty of apples each year, but for some reason this year all that it  has is about half a dozen apples on it. I was wondering does anyone have an ideas to why this could be

It’s been one of those years … late frosts and then horrible cold wet weather in May.
I think you could be considered lucky to have half a dozen Bramleys this year.
Enjoy them … will it be pie or crumble?🍏

  • When we moved in 1978 there was a very and I mean very old bramley in the garden.
Every year this amazing tree has produced fruit. Never has it had an off year.
No idea how old is was before we moved in but thank goodness for such a superb tree.
The trunk is nearly hollow all the way up but it still goes on living.
    Brilliant.
