Wisteria - prune now?

After that terrible cold spring we thought the wisteria was dead not a leaf in sight for ages. Suddenly growth started and we have had flowers. Now the wisteria has gone mad completely out of control so is it ok to cut back? I have never seen such growth in all the years we have been here.

    Yes, it's okay to prune all those long growths back now or at any time really. You can do another prune in late winter when you can really see what you are doing.
