House colour - Cornish cream

JoeXJoeX Posts: 1,783
Hi all,

Being overly confident  started painting my garage yesterday thinking Sandtex “Cornish cream” was the sort of colour my house and garage currently are…it’s not!  It’s sort of a lemony yellow…not a warm creamy like Garden Shades country cream.

Before I give up and buy a new 10l tub, has anyone had a successful looking project using Cornish cream..?

Cheers all,

Joe

We used this from Wilco,  it’s lasted far longer than the expensive paint we used before and I love the colour.

Trying to match a new paint colour with an existing one is a tricky business, even if you got exactly the same paint brand and shade, batches differ and the old paint will have aged over time so look different anyway. I think it’s more a case of can you live with it. If it jars then change it, but better to go with a complementary/toning shade rather than attempt to get it to match second time round? I think the latter will be doomed to fail!

Is that cream on top with a strawberry coloured border at the bottom, or cream on the bottom with a red roof? :D
Sorry, I'll find my own way out.

Ive bought some scones but the Cornish cream works even worse there than on the walls, @KT53 !

Ive been wracking my brain trying to think of alternate uses; as an undercoat, inside the garage, on the garden buildings, or only use it on the rear facing elements of the the house.

Im imagining that it’s faded a bit but it hasn’t. It reminds me of only fools and horses when they get hold of a load of hiviz paint and decorate a living room with it!
