They’re usually only grown as annuals here so it’s up to you if you want to enjoy the flowers for a bit longer then dump them, I can’t see any point in spraying the culprit now, (or anytime really) Maybe best not to put them on your compost heap in case it’s a virus.

I don't grow them, but I've seen similar on tithonias in other folks' gardens so whatever it is, it's not uncommon. Have you grown them in that garden before?
