Repurpose a water butt

Hi all, I have had to replace a water butt and wondered if I could reuse the old one as a compost bin. Any advise appreciated. Thank you.

I don't see why not as long as you have a lid for it, and a suitable spot to put it in.
There was a thread about this recently if you want to look for further advice.
Just use the search option at the top of the page.  :)

I think it would be fine. I have used old plastic dustbins. It would need drainage holes in the bottom. You can use a piece of old carpet or similar as a lid if it doesn't have one.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
