Possibly tiny fruiting bodies of a harmless soil fungus, like this one:

Looks like fungus to me too, dig it in will help break down your compost.

Not really but they do seem to be all over our garden this year.
Some of them are very beautiful but just wish they would eat things that aren't what we want to grow!

Very true, I have hostas with hundreds of tiny little snails munching away.
cant bring myself to kill them, since I’ve had big ones indoors I see snails in a different light now.
