Slugs are certainly a likely contender.

Probably that or snails.look under the leaves and under surrounding plants. Snails will attach themselves to walls or fences.

Insects and a few common diseases (with the help of a hand lens or magnifying glass), but detecting problems caused by poor care or environmental circumstances can be difficult.

Common things occur commonly, slugs and snails.

Cause he thinks she melts when he touches her
She knows she's the chocolate girl
Cause she's broken up and swallowed
And wrapped in bits of silver
