Didn't come with a label, so I'm open to answers! 👍

You bought it? Other people here are tree experts. A close up of the leaf would be helpful. Crop the pic after taking it to make it load straight.

    Did you buy it?
Or was it a gift from the birds?

A neighbour gave it me after their child got it from their school.  I just potted it up and thought I'd give it a go.

Does doyen @Silver surfer  think this is a goat willow?

    🐐

  • Is it an apple tree? I remember when I was going to school growing an apple tree using an apple seed from the fruit I had eaten. It grew fairly big eventually as it was not grafted onto a specific root stock to keep it small.

Doesn't look like my goat willow.

Possibly a  Prunus of some sort… blackthorn, wild cherry, bullace, that  sort of thing … as it ‘grows up’ lot might develop more characteristics to ID it with.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Not goat willow. I'd agree with @Dovefromabove - something of that sort, but not blackthorn.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
