Clerodendrum bungei

I’ve been given a clerodendrum bungei in a small pot I’ve read up on them and see that they sucker a lot! Would it be best to plant in a plastic pot sunk into the border would that stop it spreading? I want to plant it by a fence but don’t want it spreading into next doors garden!

I've just looked this up as I wondered if it is something I should grow, being from Bungay in Suffolk!  It looks like a nice shrub, a member of the verbena family (similar flowers).  It looks as if the suckers are easily controlled.  More info here: https://www.paramountplants.co.uk/plant/cbgf/clerodendrum-bungei.html
