Gooseberry bush

HI Folks

I planted 2 gooseberry bushes in February close to each other, and unlike the ones at my previous home, these seemed to spread out along the ground, and I have only seen 3 berries on them of which one I ate, otherwise, nothing and I'm sure the birds did not get at them, so what is wrong, I feel like digging them up as they are useless...help please

They are still very young bushes so you need to give them time  to establish in their new home.

We have "outlanders" that look very healthy but are still to produce fruit.

Give them a chance as they will give you a good harvest at some point.

Different types of gooseberry have different growth habits. Some are almost pendulous and sprawl, like Hinnonmaki yellow, whereas Whinham’s Industry has an erect habit. 

And I agree with @bertrand-mabel …your bushes are very young. I find it takes about three years for gooseberry bushes to start to produce well. 

The correct care and  pruning twice a year (winter and summer) will help produce a well-shaped bush that can then give you a good crop.
