Oooh ... it looks as if we're still very good indeed at cycling round and round ...

We’ve been watching olympics all day. It was good until the men’s basketball. Didn’t enjoy that.

I think you mean round and round and round and round and round and round and round ad nauseum

Good morning.   Dull and grey again and we have wet stuff but just a quiet, steady drizzle.   Not wet enough to put Minstrel off hunting.  She brought me a mouse but I was busy cleaning oak furniture with some very smelly something or other that removes old polish.  Run out now tho so need a raid on a DIY store.   Rasta haircut this pm so I can go then.

Yesterday's trip to the air park friend was interesting.   It's gated with a double barrier which makes it wide enough to get a light aircraft through.  The road continues wide with sweeping curves and has black taxi lights either side to indicate a 30m wingspan for cars to stay out of when a plane appears.    The houses are well spaced with wide deep drives and every one of them has a double garage for cars and a hangar for a light aircraft.   15 houses so far and space for more.   Had me bemused tho I didn't meet a taxiing plane.

Lovely time chatting to friend about all sorts and got home to have a Possum cooked curry so a very relaxing day all round.

Glad your back's feeling a bit freer @WonkyWomble.  Be careful with it.

haven't seen any news yet so no idea what anyone's weather is doing but I hope it suits your plans.

Morning all.  Sorry have been awol for a few days.  But the Garden Competition is done now with the winners awarded their prizes at a ceremony in front of the Castle (well, a ruined castle but we are proud of it here in our little town), on Sunday which was enjoyed by all.  Now back to organising the Garden Street Market (Sunday 12th Sept @Dovefromabove) and getting some tourist leaflets redesigned and printed.  The idea is to reissue a whole raft of them, to a uniform design to be decided after a marketing training session to include other visitor facing organisations in town.  We had an inaugural meeting last week with some of them and I remembered, with an inward groan, how difficult it is to get things done when there is a committee of people all with their own views, some of whom have no idea about producing artwork etc etc.  And already I have had a phone call from one of them who had poked about and found some old leaflets and declared we already have too many leaflets.
Haven't watched any Olympics - just not grabbing us this time.
@WonkyWomble - hope your back is better and you are able to have a happy anniversary tomorrow.
Sun shining - lots to do in the garden including pulling up the sweet peas.  Sad to see them go but they have been magnificent this year - lots and lots of bunches of them but now the stems are sooo short and they have lost the fragrance they had at the beginning. But the lilies are out, with their knockout scent.  Too strong for the house.

Afternoon everyone,  gentle day here after yesterday's exertions at the Allotment.  Watered all the pots, and a couple of things in the front garden as these dribbles of rain aren't enough to wet the ground under some of the denser planting.
    Have a good day all.

Afternoon all, glad the Garden Competition went well @didyw. I wouldn't be any good on committees, like to get my own way too often!
We've actually got sunshine today and it's a bit warmer. Hoping to prune the front native hedge back a bit as it's beginning to encroach on the lane and impede visibility. Really could do with a friendly farmer and a tractor.
We've just had an invite to join the newly weds for a late afternoon tea - lovely idea but all this socialising is playing havoc with my waistline.

Glad your back is easing up @WonkyWomble, but take it easy.

Enjoy your time with your grandchildren @Hostafan1.
