Carex grasses

Hello,
I have three large carex grasses and I need to split & move them and when would be the best time to 
move them?

    They are tough as old boots, I normally do them at any time that is convenient.  They prefer more moist conditions, so make sure to keep them well watered for a few weeks after division, just to help them along.
