Courgette flimsy with brown leaves

Since lockdown I have started a gardening project and planted a courgette seed. As a seedling it seemed to be growing fine but after I repotted it, the plant began growing sideways and cannot stand up straight like other plants. The leaves also started dying and I cut them off as you can see in the lower part of the stem.

Flowers started growing at one point but died soon after. Now the leaves are turning brown and crispy and the stem is snapping off very easily. I don't know what to do, should I buy some sticks to hold it up?

There also a lot of jumping insects in the soil they are very small - I think they are springtails? I googled and they don't seem to harm the plants?

I am also planting this indoor, maybe this is affecting its growth? Please help as I don't know what to do with the courgette plant.

They need to be out in the garden where they trail along the soil, they don’t stand up.
Plant it out deeper than it is at the moment.
The first flowers are usually all males but the females will come later.

Not enough light and to much water I think for that plant.
