Sambucus Nigra Black Lace

Hi, I’m new to gardening and would like some advice please. I moved my Sambucus Nigra Black Lace and all the leaves are now wilting. I now realise I should not have moved it however, I’d like to know if there is any way to save it please? Thank you.

if it's on the big side, you can cut it back pretty hard . The more it's trying to support, the harder for the plant

Did you give it a good watering? A whole watering can or 2.

Mine droops a bit if the new growth is in the sun on a hot day.  It has been pretty resilient after being broken in two by a fencing contractor last year, it's put on tons of new growth this year.  You could try taking some cuttings in case you do lose it, I did from the broken off bit and have got two now and gave one away.

It'll need plenty of water. Probably a couple of bucketsful, poured on slowly so it soaks in and doesn't run off the surface, every 2 or 3 days unless you get heavy persistent rainfall.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

Thanks all, I’ve cut it back and watered it well, fingers crossed it recovers.

Acquired one last year as a gift and spent last summer as the leftover hardwood stem, leafless. Left over winter, presumed dead, now over two metres tall 🤷
