Can anyone tell me why my Red Hot Poker has not flowered please? it was only planted at the beginning of spring this year, plenty of leaves but no stems or flowers yet.

It's only just getting established if it was planted in spring. It may not flower this year at all, or you may get the odd spike later.
Perennials establish quite quickly, but it takes a few years for them to reach their full potential.  :)

No probs. It should give you a good display next year once it's settled in  :)

Some RHPokers eg K.rooperii don't flower until Sept /OCT.
How can you lie there and think of England

Ours aren't in flower yet (no idea the variety) and they have been in situ for many years.
    They flower Aug/Sept for us.

Thanks Bertrand-mabel  We do have about 6 shoots at about 5inches high which have grown already.  Chuffed to bits.  :)

Well, that’s looking splendid … even on its side 😊
