Two plants to ID please

Hi
Does anyone know what these are please?
The first one seems to be a climber, though I found it straggled through the lawn and across the ground under an apple tree and I'm not sure whether to just pull it up.
The second one has been a bit broken but looks familiar and I think it's more plant than weed.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

The first one looks like Black Bryony. I don't recognise the second one.

I googled that but it's not it. Here's a better pic of the leaf shape. I'm less sure it's a climber but it's definitely a clinger!

#1 might be Bryonia dioica see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bryonia_dioica
#2 is a kind of campanula. There are many species, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Campanula

Maybe white bryony for the climber?  The blue flower is a campanula, but it's hard to see which one...

  • White bryony it is then, and having read about it I think digging it up is the next action.

I was trying to think of the word campanula,  so I'm pleased I didn't dig that one up. I'll try to remove all the weeds round it and see if I can save it.

I'm trying to clear a load of thick growth to find what once was a glorious flowering currant, but this is in the garden of a let property and the last tenants might well have cut it back and killed it! :open_mouth:
