garden hose

The garden is made up of several beds and borders and is very big. Can anyone recommend a hose where I can easily join a couple of 100mtr or 50mtr hoses on together, is there a limit to how many can be joined?

  • Uphill or downhill will make the most difference in relation to your water pressure. Downhill you could join as many as you like I expect.

    Gardena joins are good.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

I'd go for atleast 25mm internal diameter hoses to get a decent flow rate when connecting long runs of hoses.

Use brass connectors and fittings as they are more durable.

If you intend to leave the hose out in the open exposed to the sun then please be aware that the water remaining inside hose may boil if there is no flow - it can reach scorching hot temperatures!

For me, anything from Gardena is just beautifully made, and strong. Yes it's extra spenny, but very worth it.
