yellow loosestrife. So called because if you tie a bit onto your nag’s bridle it will keep the pesky flies away.
Apophthegm - a big word for a small thought.

It's Lysimachia punctata, yellow loosestrife. Pretty but invasive.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
