Good Morning everyone, Good to see you @Chivetalking sorry to hear some of your colleagues are isolating. Hope you are ok, take care not long now till the end of term. Look after yourself and stay safe. @Songbird-1 hope your headache has gone and you managed to get a good night's sleep. A very warm sunny morning here, weekend is supposed to be Schorchio 😤 @debs64 glad the little kitten is on the mend. Has he been chipped now. Has your MIL given him a name. Hope he knows where he's well off and doesn't go wandering off. Need to do indoor bits and bobs and then I'm out in the garden. Have a good day everyone
Thank you for the lovely kind birthday wishes. I’m visiting the rellies this morning. Alfie was wanting to be fed and watered. Busy congratulations to you and oh on your anniversary. LB yes best to stay out of the garden when it’s very hot. Good morning to all and my lovely mum and dad. Have a lovely day. Chive I can understand your concern. I do hope all further tests are negative. It’s not easy working in a school at this time. Debs I’m glad to hear a positive outcome for the little cat. Hazel I hope your headache subsides soon. Lily thinking of you too.
Good morning everybody and a special Happy Birthday to Rosie and Happy Anniversary to BL and C. Hope you all have a lovely happy day🍾🎂🥂
After a rather cool, cloudy few days the sun is now shining and it's hotting up! Made the most of the cooler conditions yesterday. Did 4 hrs in the garden in the morning, followed by a big SM run, followed by painting the inside walls of the porch plus completing various bits of paperwork, phone calls etc etc. Finally sat down at about 7.15pm. Cheated and let Mr Waitrose do the dinner with a heat-through curry.
Planning to do a couple more hrs in the garden this morning before clearing away all the decorating stuff. Hopefully, by the end of the weekend, the house will be nearly back to normal.
Chive - hope you manage to stay clear of the virus. In the SM yesterday I overheard a conversation that at least one of our local schools now has so many staff and children off that they might not be able to open today. Many parents & staff are also very concerned that holiday plans over the next week or so will not be able to go ahead because somebody in the family is isolating.
I'm so glad that many organisations and people seem to be taking it upon themselves to continue to take sensible precautions after Monday. I certainly will be. I'm not so sure about OH. The men I come into contact with seem to have a very different attitude to the virus to the women.
I was very pleased that the main people participating in the wedding last week all volunteered to do a couple of lateral flow tests in the week before and on the day of the event. They didn't HAVE to but they're all around 30 years old with only one jab each. They all mostly live around London and have full working & social lives so it was a very considerate and sensible thing to do (lots of kissing & hugging at weddings!). Sadly the groom's sister tested positive so she couldn't come. She did a Zoom call instead.
I'm missing our holidays in Germany but I'm very glad we're not there right now. Horrific pictures of the flooding and so many people dead. We know NRW very well and have often visited various towns in the region. We probably would have been there this week if it wasn't for travel restrictions....
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Hello folks ... Congratulations for those with celebrations today 🥂 🎂💐 I've had a busy morning ... a dash to the farm shop before the temps rose, so that I could buy ice cream to go with the strawberries, and meat and veg etc for the week ahead. Then MIL rang as she's off to the IoW for a week tomorrow, then OH started mowing the front lawn so I decided to do the weeding out there while he was there because I needed to get to the back of the border and that way he could notice and pull me out if I became entangled in the Rosa glauca ... Now we're having egg mayo and nasturtium leaf sandwiches for lunch. Yummity yum yum.
Thoughts are with anyone with friends and relatives in Western Germany ... we've heard from a friend in Wuppertal ... fortunately she says her apartment block is high enough up the hillside to be ok 🤞 ... but its horrendous there.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Afternoon folks, Beautiful day here, I've been enjoying lunch in Bestie's garden. The first day in ages when I've been able to relax. Luckily Merri's test came back negative so Firstborn and her family are now on their way to their Villa in Menorca. Good job as the builders have removed all the kitchen and knocked down walls etc so the ground floor in their house house isn't habitable. The floods in Europe are awful hope no one on here is affected. Happy Birthday Rosie and congratulations BL on your anniversary.
Thank you @bluebellsinthewild Hope you've had a lovely day. Glad Merri's test came back ok. Hope your first born and family have a lovely holiday. Its beautiful here too. Did a few indoor bits and then popped to SM to get a few bits. We cancelled this weeks delivery as we didn't need much. Just picked up some fresh fruit and veg. Cupboards and freezer are bursting and need to eat our way through some of that 😂 Have been relaxing in the garden in the shade most of the afternoon.

Thank you all for the anniversary wishes.
Today I will be planting the new plants I bought when we went to the plant nursery.
Having chicken and leek pie tonight, one of OH's favourites.
