How do I cut back these plants?

Hi folks I have 3 plants that I need to dead head but I'm not use how to do it,I think they are Rhodanthemum and osteopermum i can see the flowers at the top need to be nipped off but that leaves behind those long wirey stems that were holding those flowers, they haven't got other buds on them,do I remove the complete stem? Will more flowers come from them this year?I'm a novice gardener so rather unsure about things.

Most of those flowers are dead. Snip them off.. Is the ground as dry as it looks? If yes, give the plant plenty of water and you should get some more blooms. Same with osteospermum. But pinch the dead blooms off as and when.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

Cut the flower stalks down to the base of the plants.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

Yes, snip off the whole stem. New leaves and stems will be produced and the plant will grow bushier.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
